Unwins GYO Book and Free Seeds

  • Catalogue Code 1090-4225
  • Pack Contents: 1 Book and 6 packets of Seeds

Marshalls are passionate about getting everyone to try growing their own fruit & vegetables.

Working with our sister company Unwins, we have been able to take their Grow Your Own Vegetables book written by Chelsea gold medal winner Andy McIndoe and add 6 packets of vegetable seed all for a special offer price.

The book by itself normally sells for £10. We have added 6 packets of seed that have an average value of £12 saving at least £15 including our standard P&P rates.

Your 6 seed packets will be chosen at random from our 2017 range but will where possible be separated into:

1. Brassica (1 seed packet of either cauliflower, cabbage or broccoli)
2. Cucurbit (1 seed packet of either pumpkin, cucumber, melon or squash)
3. Salad (1 seed packet of either lettuce or watercress)
4. OSG (1 seed packet of either onion, shallot or garlic)
5. Tomato (1 seed packet of either an indoor or outdoor tomato)
6. Root vegetables (1 seed packet of either turnip, swede, carrot or parsnip)

The GYO book is designed to help you get the maximum impact from your available garden space and is aimed squarely at the novice & part time gardener.

There is information on using patios, pots, containers and windowsills and if you are lucky enough to have the space there is an additional two chapters on “small vegetable plots” and “the allotment” to help guide you on crops and crop rotation.

Using his 25 years of experience Andy also highlights his passion for some clever techniques to create food & flowers in the same border area using traditional British cottage garden schemes.

Spread across 7 chapters with hundreds of step by step full colour pictures this book is a great introduction to producing healthy food for you and your family.

Chapter 4 Growing in containers and raised planters

Fully indexed if you just want to cherry pick your favourite fruit and vegetables, we believe our book will make back the £9.99 cost in its first year of being used.

How we have been able to do this fantastic offer:

Did you know that we pack our seed packets fresh each year? When packed our seed has an average germination of 95%-98% depending on the variety.

We always have some seed packets left over at the end of the season. The seed packed for 2017; when planted in 2018 still has a germination average of 85%-95% depending on the variety. Which means that at least 8 in every 10 seeds planted will germinate.

All you have to remember is to keep the seed packets in a cool, dark place like a sideboard drawer to get the very best results in 2018.

informative book and although i've only sown cabbage and carrot seeds both have taken off extremely well, all cabbage seeds chitted.

excellent seeds, all have germinated well
