Tomato Seeds - Licor F1 Hybrid

  • Catalogue Code 1020-2301
  • Pack Contents: 6x Tomato Seeds

A truly fantastic high-yielding, disease-resistant cordon tomato. Variety Licor produces perfect medium-sized round fruit on healthy strong-growing plants that will ensure you have a handsome harvest of tomato fruits right through the summer and into early autumn.

Great sliced for your mozzarella and tomato salad, simply divine and perfect, enjoyed al fresco.

One packet of six seeds will produce six strong plants to give you a few punnets of tomatoes. Four packets will fill a full 24 module-tray for more summer salads full of sweet tomatoes.

We recommend you sow seeds from January - April. Simply fill a module-tray with suitable seed compost level to the top of the tray and firm the compost down lightly with the base of another tray.

Sprinkle water to the compost with a watering can. Sow one seed per module on the surface of each module and lightly cover with a little more compost.

Place in the warmth 18-20°C (65-70°F) and keep the compost moist. Gradually reduce the heat to 15°C (55°F) as the plant grows to stop it from becoming too leggy and spindly.

Keep seedling in a light position but shade from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle transplant seedling individually to small pots of potting compost and maintain the minimum temperature of 15°C (60°F).

When the first flowers have opened transfer to grow bags in a greenhouse or the greenhouse border. Allow 24in (60cm) spacing between plants.

Tie plants up canes, using strings or wires. Remove the little side shoots as they appear in the angles between the main stem and side-stems to encourage more energy to go into the fruiting stems.

Harvest: July - October.

Tip: Water plants generously and regularly. When first fruit starts to swell, feed weekly with a tomato fertiliser. Place your module pots, once sown, in a warm room or greenhouse at 10-15⁰C (50-60⁰F) and keep moist. Keep the germinating seedlings in a bright position while they grow their first 3 or 4 leaves.

Gradually accustom your young seedling plants to the outdoors before planting them into their permanent positions once they are 4in (10cm) high. Place seedlings outside by day and bring indoors overnight.

Plant in their permanent position outdoors in a sunny site or partially sunny site 12in (30cm) apart.

Harvest: June - July

Tip: Protect with netting held above the crop from butterflies.
