Indigo tomatoes are a fairly new class of open pollinated and hybrid varieties which have great taste and high levels of health benefiting anthocyanins. These naturally occurring pigments give the tomatoes a beautiful purple colour and are important antioxidants.
Three stunning varieties provide and fantastic mix of different colours throughout the ripening period. Three different varieties all with a unique and delicious taste. Your three plant Indigo tomatoes collection will include the following varieties:
1x Indigo Blue Berries:
Blue Berries is a stunning cherry type tomato that has high levels of antioxidants giving the fruits deep purple skin. The unripe fruits are a vibrant amethyst and ripen to a dark almost black shade with a brick red top and delicious flavour. Fruits weigh around 12-15g.
1x Indigo Ruby F1:
Ruby fruits are a bright red with an indigo colour over the top of the fruits that are plum shaped. They exhibit sweet flavour and are very aromatic. The fruits weigh between 45-50g and they hang in generous clusters of four to six.
1x Indigo Kumquat F1:
Stunning tangerine-orange coloured fruits with indigo anthocyanin pigments which give the shoulders and crown a beautiful purple hue. Each of the fruits weigh around 30-35g and have a wonderful aromatic flavour.

Tomatoes taste just lovely picked fresh from the vine, tomatoes ripened by the sun have a unique flavour and sweetness making them great to add to salad, snack boxes or reduced to make delicious sauces.
Please unpack the plants as soon as you receive them and sit them in a tray of shallow water if they appear to have dried out in transit.

When tomatoes are plentiful, home made tomato sauce is just the ticket. After processing in the food processor, I usually portion, add additional flavourings, such as chilli, smoked paprika, basil or mushrooms then freeze.
