Sweet potatoes are the tubers of attractive climbing or spreading plant Ipomaea batatas with ornamental heart-shaped leaves and 'morning-glory' trumpet flowers, so ideal for decorating the vegetable plot while waiting for ample harvests.
Recent breeding means there’s more than one type of sweet potato available for home-growers, all varieties with their individual characteristics but all equally as nutritious. Try for yourself. The deep orange flesh tastes delicious and stores very well.
Just grow them on in a sunny position – they’re half hardy so really appreciate the sun and high humidity levels to thrive.
Resistant to fusarium wilt and rots giving you peace of mind you'll have unblemished harvests. For best results plant in full sun to develop maximum sweetness.
These young plants have been grown by our experts and delivered to you with a healthy network of roots, ready for you to plant on into containers.
Exellent condition of plants
The first purchase,O’Henry slips, failed to root and died. The Beauregard plants were excellent and have grown on well. A mixed experience.
They were delivered when I was on holiday and were somewhat wilted when I found them when I returned. I think they are recovering!
Our products are all grown with the utmost care and to high standards of quality. We regularly check our nursery stock to determine exactly when they will be at the optimum time for despatch.
