Resistant to bolting from early sowing. The fleshy leaf bases from the 'bulb'.
Refreshing celery/aniseed flavour. Sow in a seedbed end of July/ early August and transplant 9-12in apart.
Harvest in October when tennis ball sized.

Sow Outdoors: Mid May - July thinly ¼in (½cm) deep in modules of firm prewatered compost or direct in harvest location in rows 18in (45cm) apart. Keep soil moist at all times.
Thin Out: 6in (15cm) apart.
Plant Out: Module raised crops 6in (15cm) apart. Keep moist until established.
Harvest: August - November.
Have only grown florence fennel before so this should be a very interesting alternative.
