Fenella Strawberry plants (late)-Lush plants with attractive glossy, bright orange-red berries of a good uniform shape. Superb sweet flavour and juicy texture it has been proven to have the best ‘rain resistant’ fruit. Plants are very hardy and grow well even in the North of the country.
Misted Tip Strawberry plants have become very popular for late summer planting.
This innovative process in strawberry production is increasingly being used by commercial growers to give bigger and better first year yields.
Plants are produced by taking early, un-rooted runner tips from specially selected mother plants. These are rooted into individual modules in a mist propagation unit and when planted in late summer, (up until end of August) the plants establish quickly and form a strong root network underground over winter rather than in spring, ensuring plants are ready to put up lots of flowering stems for harvests earlier in the season.
Strawberry Fenella is protected by Plant Variety Rights and cannot be propagated even for own use and resold without licence.
12 'misted tip' strawberry plants. Were 6 days in transit. One dead on arrival. One has died since. Two more were very small and poorly rooted. The remainder were healthy but although they were advertised as potted plants none were big enough to support runners and I am unlikely to be able to propagate from them this year. This is acceptable to me but i wouldn't repeat the purchase and will buy from a soft fruit specialist in the future.
Good quality plants on time
The plants were obviously suffering from a virus and in poor condition
