Growing Calendar for Standard Gooseberry Plant - Invicta - Bare Root
Delivery: Early November to Early May
Invicta is truly victorious gooseberry with Award of Garden Merit status, cropping twice as heavily as others, producing a generous crop of large green berries.
An excellent choice for cooking, freezing and jam as the fruit holds its shape and colour well. Your tree-trained plant reveals lots of fruit at an ideal and comfortable height for picking.
This gooseberry variety arrives to you as a bare-root fully labelled plant with its roots surrounded by a polythene bag and the whole plant arriving to your door in a protective cardboard box.
Bare-root plants are perfect for you to plant in the ground or in containers anytime from autumn to spring.
The head of leaves and stems will burst into leaf and flower from next spring, and a good root network which will establish in the ground over winter.
As with a previous gooseberry standard I'd bought, this wasn't as tall as expected being about 2ft 6 ins. However the plant was in good condition and appears to be thriving.
Really healthy plant in leaf planted it up and is growing really well
Similar to Hinnonmaki. The leaves are breaking and we hope that they have taken.
