Growing Calendar for Russian Sage Perovskia Silvery Blue - 9cm Potted Shrub
Delivery: Early March to Early September
Savour the attributes of Russian sage Perovskia Silvery Blue, a hardy lavender-like perennial with shimmering silver stems showing off lilac blue flowers in mid to late summer. The upright and elegant stems act as a lovely backdrop to surrounding perennials and tall crops like Brussels sprouts.
Grow Perovskia in pots or in your flower beds and the slim white stems provide an attractive veil to nearby bright flowers in late summer like agapanthus, rudbeckias and heleniums. Position in sun and Perovskia Silvery Blue grows well even in poor, shallow soils and during dry periods.
Related to lavender, Perovskia Silvery Blue is well-scented and happy in dry conditions given full sun. Cut some stems when in flower for vase displays in the home and bring scent and intriguing white stems indoors.
