Look forward to the copper-orange flowers of variety Schoolgirl; fully double flowers with layers and layers of petals. These blooms make a statement as your rose creeps up or over walls, fences or trellis as the light green foliage is not so dense as other varieties.
Introduced in 1964, rose variety Schoolgirl shows off flowers with strong scent that fills your garden, big or small. Plant in pots filled with rich soil (John Innes No3.) on the patio by a wall and add trellis to tie in stems as your plant grows. The dark green leaves contrast nicely to the pink and apricot flowers to enhance your flower display of roses.
UK-hardy climbing rose Schoolgirl shows good disease-resistance. We suggest that you dead-head regularly and Schoolgirl will give you blooms over and over again through the summer.
Give your plants an initial dose of rich, moist soil like John Innes No3. Top up yearly with a fresh layer to give you a continued yearly display of fragrant roses.
