Floribunda rose Hot Chocolate packs a punch with its rare russet-brown clustering blooms contrasting with surrounding glossy green leaves. Hot Chocolate gives you roses all summer for a generous flower display. Repeat-flowering you are sure to see the roses performing well to as late as the end of September.
Your plant reaches a height of around a metre (3 ½ ft) which makes it a perfect patio rose placed by your back door or near a seating area. They are also happy flowering in beds and give a framework of permanent plants around which you can introduce complementing perennials and bedding.
Hot Chocolate makes great cut flowers for vases indoors. We recommend that you offset the russet-brown roses with ornamental grasses and perennial with post-flower seedheads.
In winter prune out wispy, weak stems to keep your plants in good shape and with an attractive framework of branches to put on an even better display the following year. Give your plants an annual dosage of mulch in September to keep the soil warmer and the roots happy as the weather starts to turn colder.
Feed with a liquid fertiliser high in potash every week from around June for lots of flowering stems and maximum performance.
