Growing Calendar for Primrose 'Sweet 16' - Bedding Plants
Delivery: Early October to Late November
See in the spring with primrose Sweet 16 plants. Perfectly-formed rosy pink primrose flowers with white eye-lined edges are displayed in abundance from March. First the petals are white then turn to pink and finish their display in a pink blush.
Flowering happily in full sun or even part shade this primrose is a success in many a UK garden up and down the country.
Combine with little yellow narcissi like Jetfire or combine them with small ornamental grasses and sedges for an attractive and striking texture contrast. This will get you in the mood for spring and the busy yet enjoyable growing season ahead.
Nip off the flowers once they start to fade and age; this promotes new buds for more flowers for displays lasting longer into spring.
How your plants arrive:
Your plants are sent to you as young plants containing a ‘plug’ of soil with roots and some young green stems and leaves. Although they are small plants they are just the right size to get growing fast once you plant them in bigger pots.
Your flower plants will arrive to you in a plastic container with a lid (which acts as a mini-greenhouse) to create an effective humid atmosphere for your young plants to thrive and get a promising start to give you lovely flowers. Your container may come in a box for extra protection when leaving our nursery to arriving at your home.
