Growing Calendar for Papaver Ladybird - Plants
Delivery: Mid April to Late May
See the generous numbers of attractive buds of poppy Papaver Ladybird burst open into red flowers with impact. Every flower has red tissue-paper like petals that glean in the sun. With contrasting black spots these fiery red flowers makes this a real flower with impact.
Flowering well in all soil given full sun Ladybird is a great selection if you have poor, shallow soils or richer soil. We recommend you add to parts of your garden designated to wildflower planting or indeed in containers. They work well in vegetable plots too to bring in important pollinating insects that stick around to pollinate the flowers of soft fruit and fruiting vegetables.
You receive 48 plug plants, delivered to your door in ‘blister packs’ that give your plants the perfect root and shoot environment while travelling from our nursery to arrive to your door. Pot them up in 7cm pots and wait for two weeks or so before planting them outdoors, waiting for them to establish well.
Not all survived transporting, but those that did are doing well
Even after following instructions they all died. Weren’t in the best of shape when delivered and generally very poor. All on my compost heap as of yesterday
Our products are all grown with the utmost care and to high standards of quality. We regularly check our nursery stock to determine exactly when they will be at the optimum time for despatch.
We despatch our fresh, nursery-grown live plants (including vegetables, trees and flowers) when they are at a stage of growth ready for you, the customer, to plant on at home.
