Paeonia Sarah Bernhardt 3L Potted Perennial

  • Catalogue Code 5130-5030
  • Pack Contents: 1x 3L Potted Shrub
  • Recommended by the Royal Horticultural Society
  • Ideal for the middle of borders
  • Scented and stunning

Fragrant, double-flower variety boasting a Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit, featuring big flowers full of pink petals. An excellent cut-flower contender to feature in a bouquet or a late-spring vase display indoors. Every year Paeonia Sarah Bernhardt gives you increased flower coverage on every plant.

Ideal for cut flowers you can depend on Sarah Bernhardt to create visually-impressive vase displays, so you need not spend large amounts at the florists.

Every year Sarah Bernhardt comes back with interesting indented foliage, emerging from early spring. These healthy stems put out big, attractive buds which eventually burst into large, bold and fragrant blossoms.

In autumn we recommend you cut back peonies to the ground. Keep the leaves intact over the summer after flowering. The leaf cover makes a great effective windbreak if you have delicate plants nearby. We find peonies like this one get better with age and they are really easy to split in autumn to increase your plant stock.

Perennial plants are the mainstay of the flower garden; many will flower all summer, becoming dormant in autumn to reappear in spring. Perennials tend to be non-fussy plants and are easy to look after - they just need the old stems cutting back in late autumn, which helps to promote new stems and vigorous growth the following spring, getting bigger and better every year!
