Chervil is a half hardy annual with an unusual aniseed/parsley flavour and is rich in vitamins. It can be used in soups, salads and goes well with chicken and white fish. Chervil prefers partial shade and a slightly moist soil.
Beetroot ‘Boltardy’ is a true gardeners favourite. Without a doubt it’s the perfect variety for early sowing, due to its resistance to bolting. A tried and tested variety that produces beets with an excellent sweet flavour, smooth skin and deep red tender flesh.
Rocket Salad A quick cropping, these ornamental peppery leaves are an essential salad ingredient, or delicious on their own. Suitable for container growing, successional sowing will keep you going almost all year round!
Provencale Salad Mix is a delicious winter hardy blend of lettuce and leaves. Providing a selection of tasty leaves over a long period this mix offers fantastic versatility and will continue to crop during winter, especially if given a little protection from the worst of the weather.
Lambs Lettuce ‘Trophy ‘is a superb winter hardy variety giving consistently high yields. The tasty leaves have good disease resistance too.
Lettuce Amaze is an improved red gem lettuce with sparkling red and green tender leafs. Produces a really good crop in just a few weeks. The uniform, maroon red leaves have a soft buttery texture and a good lettuce taste. 'Amaze' shows some resistance to mildew.
Salad Leaves Baby Leaf Mix is our blend of lettuces and a dash of rocket, which will provide you with plenty of salads throughout summer and into autumn. Easy to grow and gives worthwhile pickings just a few weeks after sowing. Mix contains Lettuce Lollo Bionda, Lollo Rosa, Red Salad Bowl, Green Salad Bowl and Lettuce Black Seeded Simpson.
Lettuce Pegasus has a very upright habit ensuring the crop stays clean. It has a good leaf shape with a great flavour. In trials it was quick to establish and was the slowest rocket to bolt.
Radish Purple Plum has a bright purple skin and firm white flesh. It is hardy and stays crisp with a sweet but spicy flavour. A special addition to the salad bowl or for simply eating on their own. Really fast growing, in the warm summer months you can be enjoying these six weeks after sowing.
Spring Onion Gerda a versatile bunching exclusive spring onion for salads and stir-fries. Early-harvesting and hardy variety with a delicious taste and dark green leaves. Full of vitamins and antioxidants, helping protect against cancer and heart disease.
Watercress 'Aqua' is a watercress you can grow without running water! Sow seeds direct in a shady place and keep moist. Alternatively Watercress Aqua can be grown in pots placed in a large saucer of water. Produces a large crop high in calcium and iron with a delicious peppery flavour. Seeds can be sown from mid-May to September and can be harvested from June to October. Regular picking is essential for continuity.
