Growing Calendar for Lettuce Seeds - Humil
Delivery: 5-7 Working Days
A tender light-green butterhead lettuce, very hardy and perfect for over-wintering. This is a great variety for maintaining a healthy supply of lettuce throughout the winter months. Great for sandwich fillers and for the mainstay of a leafy salad.
Consider planting them in ornamental flower beds or waist-high planters too, grown with winter bedding like pansies and violas.
Sow in seed trays or modules or in prepared seed beds in direct soil outdoors. After germination pot them on into larger containers or thin them out if sown directly in beds.
Superb butterhead type for winter salads.
Sow Outdoors: June-September thinly ½in (1cm) deep direct in harvest location. Keep soil moist at all times.
Thin Out: 12in (30cm) apart. Use thinning as baby leaf
Plant Out: July- September into the required harvest position 12in (30cm) apart with 12in (30cm) between each row when plants have 3-4 true leaves.
Harvest: January-June when centre is firm.
