Growing Calendar for Lautrec Wight Garlic Bulbs
Delivery: Mid January to Early April
Get hold of garlic bulb Lautrec Wight, a classic hardneck variety, originally from southwest France but fondly grown in the British Isles too.
The white-skinned, deep pink garlic cloves have a creamy texture and rich flavour without being too smoky.
Plant directly in your allotment, containers or VegTrug in spring and the individual cloves develop quickly in the soil as it warms up in spring and summer.
We recommend that you snap the stalk of the central flowering stem as soon as it comes into bud. It's fully edible and tastes great lightly fried with butter or in a crispy tempura, served with dry cider.
One bulb was completely rotted the other was in poor condition. Refund still not received
Not great material last year but much better this so more hopeful - made a good start.
Look good. Now planted and expecting good results.
If you thought you didn't like the taste of Garlic, think again! Elephant garlic produces huge, delicious bulbs which are excellent when served roasted and marinated with butter and olive oil.
