Grow potato Lady Christl on your vegetable plot and savour the taste of home-grown first and second early potatoes ready from as early as May. This variety lends itself perfectly to growing in a number of ways; in a trench on your allotment or grown on their own in Marshalls GroSacks or other containers.
Recognised by the Royal Horticultural Society for its outstanding performance at the trials you are on a winner with Lady Christl which when harvested is suitable for boiling for salad potatoes or chipping for a heartier meal.
Lady Christl shows good resistance against eelworm, splitting, scab and bruising. Great news when you live in areas exposed to rain, shade and other elements that can stress your plants and bring in pests and diseases. On harvest you’ll notice clean potatoes with cream-coloured skin and flesh.
When your plants reach around 15cm (6in) we recommend you earth up soil up the stems to leave 5cm (2in) of the stems showing keeping the developing potatoes underground away from the surface and beautifully cream in colour at harvest time.
Good condition. Chitting away. The proof is in the eating!
