Growing Calendar for Iris Siberica 'Teal Velvet' - Bare Root Perennial x1
Delivery: Early January to Late March
Broad deep purple petals with speckled white bases unfurl on this beautiful iris giving the flowers an appearance of butterflies in flight. Repeat-flowering in early summer and mid-summer.
Grow with ornamental grasses so you have a display of lovely delicate grasses punctuated with large purple flowers. Iris Teal Velvet makes a lovely marginal pond plant with flowers enjoying moist soils and full sun.
If left undisturbed they increase in volume year after year so make a fantastic flower to naturalise by a garden pond.
If growing in flower beds, position Iris Teal Velvet in the centre surrounded by other perennials of similar height and colour like echinops and purple echinaceas.
