Growing Calendar for Hydrangea macrophylla Magical Amethyst Blue x1
Delivery: Late May to Early September
Grow this hardy hydrangea with two-toned blue-green flower heads for impact all through summer. The spent flower heads look lovely in winter too.
This easy- grow hydrangeas, happy in large pots or beds, puts up a wealth of pom-pom flower heads.
Bred for compact, strong flowers, these fully-hardy hydrangeas thrive in moist soils in any part of the garden that doesn’t get full sun. Just water in, and add some fertiliser or bulky compost around the plants. They’ll then burst into growth and flower profusely.
Hydrangeas are ideal for the back of the border, growing well in moist soils. They enjoy damp conditions so light up the garden even in the wettest summer. Grow them as a fitting backdrop to your herbaceous perennials and summer bedding.
They look gorgeous as cut flowers too for bringing colour indoors. To extend the seasonal interest leave some flower heads on the plants over winter where they’ll look gorgeous touched by frost.
arrived and looks healthy
The plant is fresh and healthy and thriving in the garden. It will give a variety of colour when in flower.
So far this has settled well and is growing new foliage, not sure if it will flower this year though due to the lateness of my order!
