Growing Calendar for Helleborus Double Queen Mixed x3 Plants
Delivery: Mid May to Late May
This floral mix of hellebores reveals blooms in a wide range of freckled petals of whites, pinks and even greens. Look forward to flowers emerging in many colours; they all share the great attribute of lots of petals to every flower for big impact in the winter when other flowers are dormant.
Double Queen Mixed first gives you palm-like leaves, ornate in themselves and then beautiful flowers from February when their rose-like appearance cheers up the winter garden or allotment.
If growing in containers, plant with early bulbs like snowdrops, aconites and miniature daffodils to mark the end of winter and welcome the spring.
Get some sharp secateurs and cut some of the flowers for vases or bouquets bringing a bit of colour to the home.
Perennial plants are the mainstay of the flower garden; many will flower all summer, becoming dormant in autumn to reappear in spring. Perennials tend to be non-fussy plants and are easy to look after - they just need the old stems cutting back in late autumn, which helps to promote new stems and vigorous growth the following spring, getting bigger and better every year!
