This little known vegetable produces large white roots for winter use.
Use the same as parsnips. Very tasty when roasted, it has a nutty, celery-like flavour.
The tops can be used as parsley for flavouring.
Parsnip like hardy root, ideal winter vegetable.
Sow Outdoors: March-April in direct harvest location at ½in (1cm) deep In rows 12in (30cm) apart. Thin out to 8in (20cm) apart.
Harvest: October-December and use the same as parsnips.
