Growing Calendar for Halimium calycinum (libanotis) - 9cm Potted Shrub
Delivery: Early March to Early September
Introduce Halimium calycinum – the woolly rock rose – to your outdoor space and see fresh and pleasant evergreen leaves 365 days a year. Cheery all-yellow flowers come out in profusion over June and July every year. The flowers are vibrant yellow and highlight well the fresh green backdrop of leaves.
Neat and compact-growing Halimium calycinum does well in flower beds surrounded by colourful bulbs and perennials, in containers, or even in planted in rock gardens that reflect alpine displays. We recommend you partner with saxifrages, dianthus or tulip species.
Even planted in poor and shallow soils Halimium calycinum flwoers well, given they get full sun. When your plant is in full flower beneficial pollinators arrive like bees, which stick around to pollinate the flowers of fruiting vegetables like beans and peas.
Though low maintenance you can keep your plant well-shaped by trimming the leaves lightly in mid to late summer after the plant has flowered.
