Green Manure Autumn/Winter Mix

  • Catalogue Code 1020-2067
  • Pack Contents: 100g packet of mixed seeds

An excellent assortment of crops that improves the texture and nutrient levels of your soil for future crops. For best results over-winter to cut down and dig in during spring.

Grows these hardy plants over winter and not only will you have a wintering bed of greens to keep weeds from taking hold in the colder months, you’ll be investing in your soil too. Once dug into the soil these plants release nutrients and texture, as well as bio-fumigants from the mustard, which naturally keep rot and mould-producing diseases at bay.

Will cover approximately 20 sqm.

Mix includes:

Crimson Clover (Trifolium incarnatum)

Broad Leaf Clover (Trifolium pratense)

Both these leguminous plants fix nitrogen from the air into nitrates that are accessible to plants, particularly good for leafy crops like brassicas and spinach.

Rye Grass (Lolium multiflorum)

When dug in Rye grass adds bulk as well as nutrients to your soil.

White Tilney Mustard (Sinapsis alba)

Releases natural fumigants into the soil to keep soil-borne diseases at bay. A great alternative to disease-fighting chemicals that are no longer available to the home grower.

Healthy growth already

Very disappointed as not one has germinated feel has been a complete waste of money

Sowed these seeds in very wet soil just before three days of solid rain. Believe it or not they have sprouted like crazy in about 10 days!
