Growing Calendar for Eryngium Big Blue -Sea holly x 1 Bare Root perennial
Delivery: Early January to Late April
Large Heads of Steely-Blue Flowers. The spikey flowers rise above spiny foliage in a blue haze. Sea holly teams brilliantly with airy plants such as grasses and Verbena bonariensis. These plants are smothered with bees and pollinating insects all summer.
Plant in the border or in a large container. The flowers are also lovely used in dried flower arrangements
Eryngium are perfect plants for sunny borders.
Plant the bare roots into weed free soil and water in.
Cut back spent stems in late autumn when flowering has finished and plants will re-emerge next spring.
Dead on arrival in a bag of dust - could not be revived.
Transplanted well and growing well in the garden
Only one out of three I think shows any sign of growth
