Dwarf French Bean Seeds - Castandel

  • Catalogue Code 1030-3136
  • Pack Contents: 200x Dwarf French Bean Seeds
  • Impressive germination rate
  • Weather-hardy
  • Fantastic value for money

Dwarf French Bean Castandel is the variety for you when trying French beans for the first time or when you’re a seasoned grower. Forgiving to UK weather conditions Castandel is praised for extremely good germination and outstanding performance in forming great quality beans.

Your plants produce very tender, fleshy and stringless pods which is a blessing in the kitchen and so much more palatable on the plate. We recommend you steam Castandel to keep the home-grown flavours intact.

The beans holds well whatever the weather, giving you piece of mind that plants stay in tip-top condition between pickings. You can rely on cropping right through July and onto September with this vigorous and weather-hardy variety. With 200 seeds in every packet, having full sowing and growing instructions, you get a better deal on your French beans that can prove pricy in the supermarket and give you less returns.

If you love the taste of Castandel, consider freezing beans after you have harvested in summer so you have a stock of beans in autumn too and going into the winter.

Sufficient for 50ft/15m Row

  • Will flower well in full sun
  • Varieties that, in our selector's opinion, have exceptional flavour

Have not tried this batch of seed yet! but this varity have been excellent when I have grown them before.

Runner beans not done well because of weather conditions so thought I would try a late crop of Marshall’s dwarf beans. Sowed two rows in prepared seed beds. Four plants are doing very well, but sadly no sign of the other seedlings at all. Have kept them watered and protected with mesh cloches, so these seeds are proving to be very disappointing.

Did not germinate but I blame the arid conditions not Marshals
