Growing Calendar for Dahlia Bluesette - Tuber
Delivery: Early March to Late May
A neat, small mound-forming variety of Dahlia, Bluesette has bright and fuchsia pink, lilac and white flowers. Suitable for containers if you are without beds or if your flower beds are stocked up already with other flower favourites.
Like hydrangeas in appearance the foliage and large blooms give great impact. Flowers are great for cutting too if you wish to decorate your mantelpieces or fireplaces with vases full of lovely blooms.
Treat Bluesette to full sun and grow in moist free-draining soil. If growing in pots we suggest bulb compost. If you choose to position in flower beds add a trowel or two of bulb compost to every tuber you plant. Position tubers 30cm (12in) apart.
Try growing Bluesette by other summer bulbs. The compact habit of Bluesette goes well with contrasting gladioli and other dahlias. Grow one or two bulb-like tubers to a 30cm container for containers with big impact.
Summer flowering bulbs, corms and tubers are many and varied. They fit in with most mixed planting schemes.
