Growing Calendar for Crocus Miss Vain - Crocus Bulbs (Corms)
Delivery: Early October to Late November
Crocus Miss Vain gives a pleasant and cheery start to the flowering season. This pure-white flower with accompanying silver-green leaves opens from as early as February and continues well into March. Happy in full sun or part shade Miss Vain is versatile in the garden and you can plant the corms anywhere in the autumn.
Dotted beneath a tree they enjoy the dappled shade in spring and they pair up beautifully with yellow winter aconites for that first glimpse of spring. Alternatively plant the corms of white Miss Vain crocuses in containers and cover with a decorative layer of moss for the flowers to poke through in late winter.
Water crocuses as they come into flower only if the soil is dry. If there is snow melt or it’s been a rainy winter the soil should be wet enough and you can leave Miss Vain snowdrops to it.
If growing in containers we recommend you plant 12 bulbs for every 20cm (8in) diameter pot and plant in a free-draining bulb compost where the bulbs overwinter before erupting into flower in late winter.
