Grow this variety of bright yellow courgette for attractive crops of succulent courgettes which grow on plants with significant resistance against viruses and mould.
Expect anything up to 10 courgettes from one plant throughout the season if you pick them regularly, and more if you treat the plants to liquid feed with your waterings.
We recommend you sow indoors from April to May for earliest of harvests. Sow ½ inch (1cm) deep in individual module seed trays of pre-watered compost that has been firmed down. Place in a warm environment 21°C (70°F). A module tray with plastic lid placed on a sunny windowsill will attain this temperature. Keep compost moist at all times.
Plant Out - June. Harden off young plants before planting out (place outdoors by day and bring indoors by night) in the courgettes’ permanent position 36in (90cm) apart when risk of frost has passed.
Alternatively sow outdoors in May to June ½in (1cm) in their permanent position 36in (90cm) apart. Keep soil moist at all times.
Tip - Pick regularly when fruit is 4in (10cm). Water regularly through the growing season to give the courgettes the best chance to thrive. . Once fruits starts to swell, feed with a liquid fertiliser.
