Cosmos Sonata is the perfect flower for a awkward bed with stubborn shallow and poor soil. It naturally thrives in poor soils given a hot sunny site and withstands drought well.
If you live in one of the dry counties of East Anglia or the Home Counties you would well to plant Cosmos in big numbers, to give your outdoor space colour as well as texture from the feathery leaves.
Butterflies just love them and this compact variety is perfect for containers if you don't have space in your flower beds.
We recommend you pot your plugs on into 7cm (3in) pots to allow them to grow a bit bigger before you plant them out after the last of the late frosts are over around April or May.
Not received all 3 items yet!
The plants arrived in a poor state and damaged. All bar 2 have subsequently died. I complained but have had no apology. Events were overtaken by a general communication saying that the whole batch of cosmos were sub standard and would be resown, but these will not be available until mid-June. I remain to see if they will catch up as claimed. The general communication has been confused and duplicated. The whole thing has not been well handled.
