Growing Calendar for Celeriac Seeds - Monarch
Delivery: 5-7 Working Days
Celeriac Monarch has a much smoother skin, better flavour and textured flesh than regular celeriac. You’ll see how surprisingly easy it is to grow producing delicious white flesh and smooth roots.
Home-grown celeriac is great for mash, rostis, for puree or even a garnish not out of place in the kitchen of any masterchef.
We recommend you sow indoors in late winter thinly ¼in (0.5cm) deep in trays or modules, keeping soil moist at all times and plant out in May or June 12in (30cm) apart with 12in (30cm) between each row. If overwintering in the ground to improve flavour cover with straw or compost to protect from frost.
Your seeds adhere to E.C Rules and Regulations for peace of mind.
Excellent germination rate once I realised they needed more light. Seem to be tricky and delicate little things to get to planting out stage: instructions on packet not comprehensive enough. Quick google search revealed what I should have done so I expect Iíve lost this years crop (will most likely bolt) but Iíll definitely try again next year.
