Growing Calendar for Brussels Sprouts Seeds - Crispus F1 Hybrid

Brussels Sprout 'Crispus' F1 generation hybrid is a superb variety, with a Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit. It’s both vigorous and has an excellent standing ability. The small, tight buttons are a lovely dark green with good flavour.
We selected this Brussels Sprout variety for its superb flavour, knowing it will make a great addition to your Sunday lunch. Crispus is an excellent source of vitamin C and are packed full of vitamin D, folic acid and is high in antioxidants.
To grow tightly packed sprouts we recommend you plant in firm, fertile soil. Dig in plenty of well-rotted manure or compost such as Westland’s Jack Magic in March before planting out in May to give the soil the maximum time to settle.
Superb dark green sprouts, and club resistant.
Sow Outdoors: Late March-April thinly ½in (1cm) deep in a seed bed or clean module trays of firm pre watered compost. Keep soil moist at all times. Protect from frost.
Thin Out: 4in (10cm) apart.
Plant Out: May-June into the required harvest position 24in (60cm) apart with 24in (60cm) between each row.
Protect from Cabbage White Butterfly with netting.

Can't comment on the overall success of the crop, but I sowed the seeds immediately on receipt, got 100% germination, and the seedlings are now growing strongly and will be planted out very soon. Hoping for tasty autumn sprouts eventually!
