If you remember the famous "Bedford" sprouts, you will enjoy this British-bred and heavy-cropping variety. Deliciously smooth, dark-green buttons.

Brussels Sprout Montgomery has been selected for their superb flavour. They're also an excellent source of vitamin C and are packed full of vitamin D, folic acid and are high in antioxidants.

in the plot it performs very well- so much so that the Royal Horticultural Society has given it a coveted Award of Garden Merit. An F1 hybrid variety it grows with vigour and confidence.

To grow tightly packed sprouts, we recommend you plant in firm, fertile soil. Dig in plenty of well-rotted manure like J A Bowers Organic Farm Manure or compost as early as possible to give the soil the maximum time to settle.

Brussels Sprout Seeds - Montgomery F1 Hybrid 1020-2146

Old fashioned ''Bedford'' flavour

Sow Outdoors: Late March-April thinly ½in (1cm) deep in a seed bed or clean module trays of firm pre watered compost. Keep soil moist at all times. Protect from frost.

Thin Out: 4in (10cm) apart.

Plant Out: May-June into the required harvest position 24in (60cm) apart with 24in (60cm) between each row.

Harvest: December-February

Protect from Cabbage White Butterfly with netting.

It will be impossible for me to give proper appraisal of this until plants have developed. I would suggest that rating of experience should happen only once or twice or year not immediately after delivery. However most of seeds have germinated so ok.
