The QR Code Garden, RHS Chelsea 2012

The QR Code Garden at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2012. Sponsored by Scotscape Ltd and Treebox Ltd and designed by Jade Goto and Shelley Mosco.

You may have seen QR codes on advertisements in newspapers and magazines in the past year. QR stands for 'Quick Response' and it provides a convenient and fast way of finding the product advertised on the internet from your smart phone, just by scanning over the image like a barcode.

Once the QR code is scanned it takes your phone directly to the product you're looking at on the advertisement so you don't need to spend time looking for it through the online pages of the website.

With more and more people expressing an interest in grow your own and utilising space wherever possible, this design combines an up-to-the-minute advertising concept with one of gardening's latest trends, vertical planting. It features a giant QR code made from a wall vertical planting, positioned accurately enough to work just like a printed QR code which, when scanned, takes you directly to The QR Code Garden website. The design also includes one of the main trends at this year's RHS Chelsea Flower Show, neatly clipped topiary.

We've recently started using QR codes in our newspaper and magazine adverts. If you have a smart phone, look out for them and scan them on your smart phone to be taken directly to the product on offer!
