Vial's primrose

Beautiful and rare, yet fully hardy UK perennial flower. This variety has the Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit so be sure to introduce it to your own garden to add colour and spires of purple and red flowers.  

Flowering time: June and July every year

Height: 50cm (20in)

Spread: 25cm (10in)

Suitable planting areas: pondsides, containers, shady beds

Requirements: permanently moist and rich soil and preferably dappled shade

How can I make more plants?: In autumn lift flowers and divide the clumps 

Suitable plant combinations: Plant with candelabra primroses and irises

TOP TIP: Plant young specimens of this lovely variety into moist and rich soil. Incorporate some John Innes No2 compost into your existing soil and water well. Keep an eye on the soil to ensure it never dries out.
