Marvellous Marshmarvel

19 September 2011 | Posted in Gardening by The Marshalls Family

At last I have found five minutes to write a quick blog. The 2011 season seems to have flown by and here at Marshalls we are busy planning for your 2012 gardening year.

Whilst out on our Strawberry fields this week I came across our early Strawberry Marshmarvel being commercially picked for supply into supermarkets and restaurants. We always knew it would produce a good second crop later in the year, but felt the crop would have been more suited to the home gardener with a few fruits ripening every few days. However this year the crop is prolific and more than worth sending in teams of Strawberry pickers to harvest the fresh fruit daily.

In trials we always knew Strawberrry EM119( Marshmarvel) from the East Malling research breeder would be worthy of the name Marshmarvel!

If you have any pictures or comments of your own late Marshmarvel crop we would be delighted to hear from you.
