Growing Calendar for Black Eyed Susan African Sunset - Seeds
Delivery: 5-7 Working Days
A favourite of James’s’ and a flower he feels is a key ingredient in his summer garden is Susan African Sunset. It is a flower that instantly injects a feeling of the exotic into any garden, and is fantastic at creating a wonderful foreign escape.
Long flowering times will also be enjoyed as you will see colour from an early part of July, all the way through to the dark nights of October. Black eyed Susan is reasonably hardy and it will stand up well to cold weather just not the hard British frost.
We recommend that you start you seedlings in February plant them up in a warm place inside. Our seedlings propagator is an ideal way to start. Combine this with some seed cutting compost and you have all you need. Ensure your compost stays moist and you should see seedlings in about 30 days. You then need to move them into a bigger area, if you are choosing outside, keep an eye on unexpected frosts. As they develop it is up to you where you want to inject colour.
