Growing Calendar for Beetroot Seeds - Cardeal F1 Hybrid
Delivery: 5-7 Working Days
Beetroot Cardeal has been specifically bred to make delicious little beetroots called baby beets which are sweeter in taste and tenderer than maturer beets
Cardeal has an easy-pick regular globe shape and shows a degree of resistance to downy mildew giving you peace of mind you won’t need to troubleshoot pesky diseases.
It is extremely sweet with the highest natural sugar content of any commercial beetroot. Fantastic for salads and healthy, it’s handily sweet so will appeal to young children too.
We recommend you sow seeds outdoors in rich soil. Sow seeds in rich soil every 4in (10cm) in a row. If you’re sowing in more than one row space rows 12in (30cm) apart to give your beetroot plants room to grow.
Keep well-watered as soon as the seeds germinate and this will put your plants in good stead. Once you’ve harvested your beetroots, bring them into the kitchen and steam them so they retain their lovely flavour and tenderness.
