Fig Violetta produces a heavy crop of sweet, tasty figs as early as July.
Trials on the continent show this may well be the most frost resistant of all figs, having proved hardy to -20C, a temperature seldom experienced in British winters!
If you have never tasted fresh figs, you are missing one of the most delicious fruits in the world, and we urge you to try this outstanding variety.
These large fruits weigh as much as up to 111g (4 oz) and a fruit for every leaf on the tree is to be expected.
