At Marshalls we are always thinking of exciting new combinations to bring together to get the best for you and your growing. Our Veg specialist Niki has put together a combination of Shallot Golden Gourmet and Eschalote Grise. A combination designed for bumper crops, great taste and fine dining.
A select brown-skinned shallot variety which gives you good fleshy bulbs with a distinct flavour. They are a very good preserving variety, good for storage for several months.
20 planting bulbs produce 20 full bulbs in summer the following year. That works out to be around 25p for every bulb of home-grown and flavoursome shallot perfect for fish dishes including salmon en croute.
Plant outdoors: October – November.
Harvest: June – July.
Shallot Eschalote Grise sets are the first choice in shallots for top French chefs, often referred to as a Banana Shallot.
We have chosen an improved selection producing larger sets so that your crops are even more impressive.
Each shallot set will produce between 15 and 20 intensely flavoured shallots.
Plant outdoors: September – December.
Harvest: June - July.
Our products are all grown with the utmost care and to high standards of quality. We regularly check our nursery stock to determine exactly when they will be at the optimum time for despatch.
We despatch our fresh, nursery-grown live plants (including vegetables, trees and flowers) when they are at a stage of growth ready for you, the customer, to plant on at home.
The delivery period shown on your order confirmation indicates when you can expect to receive your order and we will endeavour to despatch your plants in this period within 7-14 days
