Growing Calendar for Astrantia Claret - Masterwort x1 -Bare root perennial
Delivery: Early January to Late March
Commonly known as Masterwort, the flowers are surrounded by long-lasting bracts. Astrantia flower heads look like pincushions hence the plants' other common name of Hattie's Pincushion. Astrantia 'Claret' has crimson flowers that are produced in profusion above attractive lobed foliage.
Astrantia are perfect plants for moist, shady borders.
Plant the bare roots into weed free soil and water in.
Cut back spent stems in late autumn when flowering has finished and plants will re-emerge next spring
Again excellent plants all good and healthy..
I have only just planted these bare root plants so can't really give an accurate rating yet. However, they are all growing, some faster than others.
