An all-male hybrid for stout stems of the tastiest spears which come up in big numbers after establishing in the first couple of years. Millennium is selected as a late season cropper, thriving in hot weather in the months of late spring to early summer. Once you start picking after the first couple of years you’ll soon make your returns than if you buy high-end asparagus at the supermarket.
With handsome purple tips Millennium is a show-stopper at the dinner table as a suitable starter. Simply steam and serve with a knob of butter and cracked pepper.
We recommend you plant crowns in free draining soil with added farmyard manure like J Arthur Bowers Organic Farm Manure so you have the perfect soil texture and structure for your asparagus crowns to thrive- plant in full sun where possible.
Please unpack the plants as soon as you receive them and sit them in a tray of shallow water if they appear to have dried out in transit.
