Artichoke ‘Violet Globe’ produces abundant yields of tender and flavourful purple heads year after year, similar to many Artichokes but with a finer flavour.
Sow your Artichoke ‘Violet Globe’ seeds under glass or using a Windowsill Plant Propagator February-April. Transplant in June to crop autumn and the following May/June. Sow direct in March/April for cropping the following year.
Artichoke ‘Violet Globe’ is beautiful perennial to include in the border and is delicious too!

SOW INDOORS - February-April individually, 1in (2cm) deep in clean module trays of firm pre-watered seed compost. Grow under cool, light conditions.
GROW ON - Harden off before planting out in May 36in (90cm) apart.
SOW OUTDOORS - March- April thinly 1in (2cm) deep. Transplant 36in (90cm) apart to final positions in summer.
HEIGHT - 4-5ft (1.2-1.5m)
TIP - Early sowings can be harvested same year. Later sowings the following year.

Good germination of seeds looking foreword to growing these for the first time fingers crossed
25 viable looking seeds in the packet, as specified. Only planted 3 days ago, for late Summer growth and over-Wintering. Bit too early to comment on performance, but I have every confidence of a display and crop next Summer!
