Growing Calendar for Accord Seed Potatoes (First Early)
Delivery: Early January to Late May
Grow potato of your own Accord; a dependable variety big on taste in the kitchen. So versatile Accord is great as new potatoes, in potato salads and even as chips with fish and chip shops around the country choosing this variety for their prize chips.
With a waxy texture they hold their shape on boiling, so they don’t disintegrate and go mushy. Similarly with roasting; they crisp up well. In the garden they perform so well; naturally resistant to scab they come out of the ground looking clean and blemish-free.
How to plant:
Prepare the soil by raking the area after sprinkling some pre-planting Potato Feed over the area a month or so before planting in March. Keep your seed potatoes in a dry, cool and light place over February so they create little stumpy stems (called chitting) which will grow better at planting time than seed potatoes left in a warm, dark place.
Grow Accord in Gro-Sacks. Plant one to five seed potatoes to every Gro-Sack in spring in multi-purpose compost for the perfect soil consistency and feed with some Growmore for a nutrient boost as the stems start to grow. Pile soil up half the height of your stems as your plants grow to keep the tubers well-covered at all times.
