Winter Purslane - Miners Lettuce

A salad that can be grown all year round! One of the hardiest winter leaves available. Succulent, juicy, heart-shaped leaves on long-dainty petioles. Mature leaves are more circular and cupped in shape with a tiny white flower 'piercing' the centre.

This is absolutley great on cheese sandwiches, as it says miners lettuce,as a miner we used to take on sandwiches in the winter good peppery taste.

Excellent winter hardy salad leaves.

Height: Use as cut and come again as soon as leaves are large enough to cut.

Sow Outdoors: June-September thinly in rows, direct in harvest position ½in (1cm) deep, with 6in (15cm) between rows. Keep soil moist at all times.

Grow On: Thin out plants 1-2 in (2-5cm)

Harvest: July-March as soon leaves are big enough to cut.

Keep harvestingl eaves for a constant supply.
