How you receive your plant
This bare-root variety arrives to you as a bare-root plant fully labelled plant with its roots surrounded by a polythene bag to give the roots a good, humid environment.
Bare-root plants are perfect for you to plant in containers anytime straight away when you receive them. The head of leaves and stems will burst into leaf and flower when the weather improves in earnest in spring.
Remove the polythene bag and water the root area of your bare-root plant on arrival. Plant into a container suitable for ponds with aquatic compost.
Once planted in a pond plant container gradually lower your lily into the pond so the leaves can stretch to the surface within a few days. Remove dead leaves and flowers during the growing season.
Can’t plant straight away?
If you can’t plant straight away your plant will survive up to two or three days with its roots buried in some loose moist soil. Keep out of direct-sun until permanently planted.
Look to planting in its permanent position by the fifth day after delivery.
