The BIG Easy Micromesh Tunnel x3

£69.95 each

Micromesh offers the ultimate protection for fruit and vegetables creating a physical barrier against birds, animals and insects including carrot-fly, cabbage root-fly, flea beetle and aphids.

The tinted mesh also prevents scorching and retains warmth whilst allowing adequate airflow to pass through for effective irrigation without excessive moisture build-up.

Easy Tunnels provide year-round protection for almost everything in the vegetable plot and will give you the opportunity to sow and propagate much earlier.

Each tunnel is easy to deploy as they arrive folded flat. All you do is unfold them and place them in the ground. They give protection against winter cold, late frosts, heavy rain and biting winds, and against the ravages of strong sunshine in summer. They will keep out birds and insects and reduce the spread of disease.

All this protection means a longer cropping season, and a better, bigger and undamaged harvest!

I experimented last summer, by planting rows of identical seeds and young vegetable plants alongside those protected by my new micromesh tunnels. I was amazed by the difference between items that were protected and those that were not. Seeds under the tunnels germinated more quickly. All the plants in the tunnels, whether grown from seed or transplanted as seedlings, developed into sturdier plants which were not damaged by inclement weather, especially strong sea winds, and were rarely troubled by garden pests, including birds and cats. Slugs were the exception, but were no more harmful in the tunnels than out. I am looking forward to using the tunnels much earlier this year, so extending my growing season and enabling successive plantings.
