Sweet Potato T65 x5 slips

  • Catalogue Code 1080-6076
  • Pack Contents: 5 slips

Attractive and delicious tubers; red-skinned with white flesh, variety T65 is a vigorous and reliable and well suited to growing in a cooler climate. It’s a great source of vitamins and minerals.

Crops from an attractive climbing plant with ornamental heart-shaped leaves and morning-glory flowers, so is good for decorating the vegetable plot while waiting for ample harvests.

Delivered to you as 5 ‘slips’ – young plants developed from the potato tubers, ready to form a healthy-root system once planted.

They revive well from delivery if you place the slips in water overnight.

The following day pot them up with multi-purpose compost in individual containers covering the stems right up to the base of the leaves. Grow them on in pots for up to a month, or overwinter, in frost-free conditions, if possible in a humid environment, so they develop a strong network of roots.

Transplant into bigger container or soil (preferably in greenhouse borders) in mid-spring, once risk of frosts has passed.

Although they are tender vegetables, they are less fussy about what soil acidity they are planted in; just ensure that it’s a fertile, free-draining soil in a sunny site (21-26°C).

Harvest when leaves yellow and wither in mid- to late summer
