Have grown these for several years with good results. Need to be vigilant and keep picking them. I would say they are more like a mange tout than a sugar snap - pick them whilst the pods are still flat. I used to sow them in pots in polytunnel and then plant them out, but as long as the weather is fairly warm, there is no need and I just plant them straight into the ground.
