The First Choice of Prize Winning Gardeners & Lovers of Real Food
My Account10% Off the most successful amateur strawberry - what an amazing history.
Marshmello was a real Cinderella in her early days. Every supermarket loved her, but nobody would invite her to the ball.
A Real Pedigree Strawberry - In fact, Dr David Simpson, Research Leader at East Malling Research, England's premier strawberry breeding institute, went so far as to say, "Marshmello has been the most successful of the amateur strawberry varieties that we have bred".
Marshmello is one of several world class strawberries bred at East Malling including Flamenco and Mae which you'll find featured in the Marshalls range.
Marshmello is delicately textured with a superb sugar acid balance, producing a lovely sweetness, yet with just a hint of fruit acid.
No wonder Gourmet Chef Raymond Blanc was heard describing Marshmello as simply "The sweetest strawberry I've ever tasted!"

Now then, whilst I fully agree with the taste and quality of the strawberry, my plants were ravaged by pests and diseases. From the twelve plants that I purchased only two survived the rest died from verticillium wilt. I managed to grow on runners from these two plants however the same thing happened again even though I grew them in a different plot/ part of the garden. The pest in question bores lots of holes in the leaves. I have other strawberry plants that don't seem to be affected in the same way
Bought plants end of january 2011 planted in containers grew very well had some fruit, expect a lot more next year very pleased
Disappointed to be honest. Planted them in containers and got a very poor yield.
August is primarily about harvesting your crops, but there are still some vegetables that can be sown and planted out!
