Squash Twinkle-Seeds

  • Catalogue Code 1020-2853
  • Pack Contents: 1 packet- 8 seeds

This odd shaped fruit looks like a scalloped edged custard pie! It has fine flesh and a good flavour, especially when picked young and tender and used raw in salads. Can also be cooked whole. Twinkle fruits are delicious when baked or stuffed.

Sow seed on its side in pots indoors from mid March to June. Choose a sunny sheltered spot and dig in plenty of manure or compost before planting. Plant out after the last frost, 3ft/90cm apart. Alternatively, sow direct, 2 seeds per station 3ft/90cm apart, from mid May. Plenty of water is essential, especially when the plants are in flower and when fruits have started to swell. A mulch around the plants will help to lock in the moisture. Feed regularly to aid fruiting.

  • Will flower well in full sun
  • Varieties that, in our selector's opinion, have exceptional flavour
